Make Your Voice Heard!
Would you like to play an active role in improving healthcare?
Are you looking for an innovative new treatment or better care?
Do you have ideas about how your care could be better organized? Would you like to share your patient experience to help others?
Then the Patient Voice Database is made for you!
The Patient Voice Database is a collaboration between the Patient Expert Center and Curewiki, a Belgian start-up that has developed a unique, user-friendly system to match patient profiles with research opportunities. This innovative project makes it easier to connect with clinical trials and other research relevant to your health profile, while giving you more influence over healthcare decision-making.
Our goal is to improve the lives of patients and better align innovation with their needs and expectations. The more patients join the Patient Voice Database, the stronger the patient voice will be in shaping medical practice and health policies.
What's in it for me?
-
You’ll receive an email when a clinical trial for a new treatment opens for patients with a profile similar to yours. You can then discuss with your doctor whether it might be relevant for you.
-
You can take part in opinion surveys about your condition or topics that concern many patients, such as satisfaction with care, ability to remain employed, financial aspects of illness, and more.
-
You may also participate in qualitative group discussions with other patients to better understand certain issues and propose solutions together.
Today in Belgium, more than 15,000 patients have already registered their data in the Patient Voice Database. The more patients share their data, the more their voices can be heard—and the more our healthcare system will improve.
How does it work?
-
Answer a few short questions about your health.
-
Based on your answers, Curewiki shows you only the options relevant to you.
-
You decide, after discussion with your doctor, whether you want to express interest. Your profile will only be shared with the research team once you have given your consent.
-
You are not committing to anything. You can stop at any time, delete your data, or simply choose to stay informed.
Let’s get started! Answer a few quick questions below and find out if there is a study that matches you. It only takes a few minutes, and you always stay in control.
Important things to know
-
Your data is never shared without your consent.
-
If you participate in opinion surveys, your responses remain anonymous.
-
Researchers will only contact you if you explicitly agree. If you join a workshop, you will of course need to express your interest and get in touch.
-
You can always discuss participation with your care team.
-
Curewiki complies with all confidentiality rules, and your profile can be deleted at any time.
-
Participation is non-binding, free of charge, and designed to strengthen your role as a patient in decision-making.
Why is this important?
Many people want to contribute to better care or the development of new treatments but don’t know where to start. With this platform, we make that process more accessible. This way, you can - if you wish -contribute to research while staying fully informed.
